Welcome to my kitchen, where I not only help you find your dream home but also share cherished family recipes. Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and there's no better time to whip up Grandma's Old-Fashioned Cornbread Dressing. As you enjoy this delicious dish, let me tell you about the services I provide as your go-to real estate agent in Lubbock and West Texas.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups cornbread (crumbled)

  • 4 cups white bread (cubed)

  • 1 cup celery (chopped)

  • 1 cup onion (chopped)

  • 2 cups chicken broth

  • 2 teaspoons sage (dried)

  • 1 teaspoon thyme (dried)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 cup butter (melted)

  • 2 eggs (beaten)

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the crumbled cornbread and cubed white bread.

  3. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped celery and onions, and sauté until they become tender.

  4. Pour the sautéed celery and onions over the bread mixture.

  5. Add the dried sage, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together.

  6. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and add them to the mixture.

  7. Gradually pour in the chicken broth while continuing to mix until you achieve the desired consistency.

  8. Transfer the dressing mixture to a greased baking dish.

  9. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 45 minutes or until the top turns golden brown.
